TALKING CARS & SIPPING RUM: SEAN HAMMOND

If you’re rocking an Instagram handle like @aushotrods, there better be a bit of candy sitting in the garage. Luckily enough for us, Sean Hammond knows how to live up to a name.⁣

The ‘57 Ford Ranchero was Sean’s choice to roll out as I visited his childhood home in Diggers Rest to have a chat. Completed three years ago, the final stage of the project was a collaborative one. “The paint process was good fun as a whole bunch of friends helped out. Or at least helped drink while get it done for a deadline, which was a local hot rod weekend run,” laughs Sean.⁣
⁣
The Hammond shed is filled with both Sean and his father’s cars but serves also as a holding place for good memories. Lining the steel walls with rare US number plates and faded prints of all the cars the family’s ever owned, the shed is home to a special kind of therapy that only four wheels, a stiff drink and bunch of close mates can bring.⁣
